Now That's How You Do It!
I think I might have actually clapped my hands together in excitement when I saw how this extended family had styled themselves for their session over the weekend. The coral-y red, the happy blue, the mix of patterns...In my book, this is the ideal way to casually coordinate a group. Love it!

Three-Year-Old Portraits
Most of the time, three-year-olds give you about three seconds before they're done with you and the portrait experience. This little guy is an absolute doll. I got a good 10 seconds out of him, at least. ;)

Seriously, he was as darling as ever, and I appreciated every second of our little walk around downtown SLO. Can't wait to see you again soon, D (and his mom!). xoxo

Happy 4th Birthday, T!
My working life overlaps with my personal life quite a bit. Sometimes I get to photograph friends. Other times, I get to know people through my work, and clients become personal friends.
This hunk of love and his family have become a fun part of my life over the last 4+ years. I have followed this little dude from the time he was in his mama's belly (and we did an against-the-rules-because-she-was-on-bedrest session), and I have been fortunate enough to photograph him at every milestone.
Lucky me.

We took this shot at one of his favorite spots. What 4-year-old doesn't love the bear fountain in Mission Plaza?

Little Lovelies in a Lovely Spot
Last weekend, I was able to photograph some sweet sisters for the third time. (You can see their previous sessions here and here.) It has been such a pleasure to watch them grow!
We were able to do the session on a piece of private property that has me drooling every time I see it. It is truly spectacular, and if I lived there myself I'd probably never go indoors... and my camera would be permanently attached to my hand. Fortunately the owners are incredibly nice and allowed us to traipse around, following the girls and snapping photos as we went. I am so, so grateful for their generosity.
Here's a look at some of what we captured. These girls are absolutely darling little balls of energy -- constantly ready to explore and utterly fearless. I hope that they hang onto that curiosity and fearlessness as they grow. If they do, there will be no stopping them!

Preview x 3
This week my kids were off visiting my parents. They were crazy busy enjoying a week of swimming, art lessons, movies and Sea World... Admittedly, I'm a bit worried that the crash back to earth will be a little tough on them tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it's a soft landing.
While they were gone, I had three big goals: get some work done, get some triathlon training under my belt, and tackle several house projects. The house projects were sorely neglected, unfortunately, but I did get in the work and the training. I also got to enjoy leisurely dinners with my husband, which more than makes up for the lack of progress elsewhere. So it's all good, and I'm ready to welcome them back with open arms and a big, fairly relaxed, smile.
Three of the four sessions this week were yummy little kids -- all of whom I've photographed before. Get ready to feast your eyes on this big batch of adorableness.
First, the curly girly who is seriously bursting with personality. She literally threw herself into my arms when I arrived and gave me the biggest hug you could ever expect from a body so small.

After that, I documented this hunk of love at six months. Did you know that there's a new sheriff in town? He's tough and totally smoochable. :)

Finally, I got to chase around a two-year-old who is just as darling as his big brother. After we wrapped up shooting, we went to Sally Loo's -- sooooo tasty -- for a scone and quiche. Is there a better way to finish a session? I think not.

Phew. That's a lot of cuteness in one place, huh?

He is Three
If you've spent any time checking out this blog over the last few years, you've definitely seen shots of my good buddy, Mr. T, along with his little brother and his awesome parents. I've been fortunate enough to photograph this little dude several times, and I thoroughly enjoy every minute of every session. He is a true gem.
Mr. T is three now, and we marked the occasion with a little walk around downtown. He was in a great mood and we got lots of fun shots -- a success all the way around. Here are a handful...
