Mish Mash

Whelp, I probably could've predicted it, but I preferred to be an optimist. That last post? About regularly editing and posting our European vacation photos? Yeah, it was some serious wishful thinking. I haven't had time for that.

Of course I haven't.

The truth is, I've been bouncing among quite a few projects lately, and as I pull together several loose ends today I thought I'd post some shots from several of them.

I've had the opportunity to photograph some more SLO High seniors:

Sometimes with friends...

I've also done some corporate work, including for the fun and silly crew at XYZ Textbooks...

And the slightly more traditional Triage Consulting Group in SF...

And then just yesterday I popped off a few headshots of a gorgeous lender here in SLO. I mean seriously, she's fabulous, right?

There is another batch of headshots I need to edit for the City of SLO tonight... and then more senior shooting and editing. And one of these days I'm going to firm up my fall family session shooting calendar.

Sheesh. I knew things felt busy! Add in three kids with ridiculous schedules themselves and it makes sense that the personal projects tend to fall by the wayside.

Oh, well. Someday I'll get to that vacation album. ;)

Workin' It

I had a lot of fun doing some non-traditional headshot stuff with the folks over at MathTV and XYZ Textbooks last week. (Fake juggling, anyone?) I photographed 16 grown-ups, but in between I got to squeeze in a couple of impromptu shots with this guy, who was in the office visiting his mom.

He brought the shades and the 'tude. I LOVED IT.

Happy 4th Birthday, T!

My working life overlaps with my personal life quite a bit. Sometimes I get to photograph friends. Other times, I get to know people through my work, and clients become personal friends.

This hunk of love and his family have become a fun part of my life over the last 4+ years. I have followed this little dude from the time he was in his mama's belly (and we did an against-the-rules-because-she-was-on-bedrest session), and I have been fortunate enough to photograph him at every milestone.

Lucky me.

We took this shot at one of his favorite spots. What 4-year-old doesn't love the bear fountain in Mission Plaza?

New Chapter

This handsome guy is starting a new chapter of his life. After spending a little time with him, I'm sure that he's ready to tackle more than just opponents on the high school football field. :)

Photos From Last Week

I'm currently in the midst of a fun project that has me shooting local landscapes for a doctor's office in Pismo. Last week, I ventured out to snap a few scenes and it felt really good to stretch my creative muscles and step outside of my usual box. Really, really good.

Following are a few of my favorites from the week. Not all of these were for the project; a couple were just shots I couldn't pass up. :)

As you can see, I was in a very vertical mood. I wonder what that means...

Fresh Air

It has been awhile since I've shared work on the blog, so I'm posting a few from a recent maternity session.

This mama is a lovely, mellow woman who already has one lovely, mellow daughter. I'm betting that the new little guy is going to be one chill dude.

I think that this family is in for some very special and happy holidays this year!

An Old (Young) Friend

This morning's session was with an "old" friend. We got together to photograph T in honor of his second birthday, but I've had the pleasure of photographing this guy since he was a newborn. You might say that we go way back. ;)

It was so fun to watch him run around and explore. He was absolutely darling as he pointed out the distinctions between the surfaces below him -- grass to sidewalk, sidewalk to dirt, asphalt path to wooden bridge plank -- and gingerly tested each one with his toes before deciding that it was safe to cross the invisible threshold. And he upped the darling factor by waving goodbye to every animate and inanimate object as he moved from one area to the next. I found myself thinking, "goodbye, computer," and "goodbye, coffee mug" as I took leave of those things later in the day.

Here are some preview shots from my session with one very busy, very endearing little dude.

Oh! And because I can't resist letting everyone see just how much he's grown in a year, here is a shot from the first birthday session:

You can check out more from that session here. Cuteness abounds!
